The bathroom we started with#

Builder-grade beige tile, an aluminum shower stall, and cool 4000K LED bulbs. Every surface said "utility" and nothing said "unwind."

The design brief#

Spa retreat. Two big moves and everything else defers to them:

  • Warm hand-troweled plaster walls. Instantly reads more expensive than tile.
  • A fluted freestanding tub as the focal point, centered under the window.

Everything else is restraint. Brass fixtures, 2700K bulbs, one folded towel stack.

The palette#

  • Warm cream plaster walls, #F1EBDD
  • Honed cream marble floor, #EEE9DC
  • Warm walnut vanity, #5C3D28
  • Aged brass, #8C7746
  • Off-white towels, #F6F1E4
